A Thanksgiving Warning for Minnesota Dog Owners
Thanksgiving at my house usually involves three things: way too many carbs, an elastic waistband, and three dogs convinced the kitchen was built just for them. The second a pan hits the stove, they’re underfoot - noses up, tails wagging, and acting like I’m personally cooking for them.
And honestly, who can blame them? The smells alone are enough to make anyone beg. And let's be real, it’s hard not to cave. Those puppy eyes are straight up ruthless.

But, before you sneak them a bite of what’s on your plate, it’s worth remembering that not everything on the Thanksgiving table is safe for our four-legged family members.
From buttery mashed potatoes to sticky desserts and even little bits of turkey skin, some foods are easy on us but rough on their stomachs. And a few holiday staples can even be toxic.

After all, Thanksgiving is about family, including the furry ones. Keep the treats safe, the puppy eyes satisfied, and you’ll all survive the holiday unscathed. Bonus: no vet bills, no stolen pie, and still plenty of Instagram-worthy moments.
