Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Residents of Rochester on Monday enjoyed the city’s first day of 70-degree warmth in over six months.

The National Weather Service is reporting the unofficial high temperature recorded at the Rochester Airport was 71-degrees at 2:16 PM. It marked the mercury has reached 70-degrees since October 3rd of last year when the high for the day hit 83-degrees. While Monday’s weather was unseasonably warm at 17-degrees above normal, the higher reading was 13-degrees below the record for April 8th that was set in 1931.

The warmest spot in the region was La Crosse, which saw an unofficial high temperature of 77-degrees. The high in Winona was 73-degrees, while Albert Lea saw a high of 72-degrees.

Of course, all good things must end. Forecasters are tracking a powerful storm system that has the potential to dump heavy snow on the region from Wednesday into Friday.
