
Rochester Police Capture Theft Suspect in Shopping Center Parking Lot
When the person went to check on their vehicle, they saw a man walking away with items from their vehicle, the police report says.
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man is in custody for an alleged theft from a vehicle.

That’s according to Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson.
Officers were dispatched to the alleged theft shortly before 10:00 Saturday morning.

Rochester Police Arrest Man Suspected of Stealing Valuable Items from Vehicle Parked at Shopping Center
The theft call came from the parking lot of the Silver Lake shopping center at 1500 North Broadway Ave.
An individual told police they received an alert on their phone that their vehicle door had been opened.
When the person went to check on their vehicle, they saw a man walking away with items from their vehicle, the police report says.
Responding officers found the suspect and took him into custody. He was identified as Mohamed Abdi.
Police say he is 27 years old and is homeless in Rochester.
Grayson says Abdi is expected to face a felony theft charge, which indicates the items stolen from the vehicle have an estimated value of over $1,000. Police say the items he's accused of stealing were in a backpack.
