
Three Law Officers Shot in Tiny Western Minnesota Town

Three law enforcement officers were shot while responding to a domestic call in a tiny western Minnesota community.
The Pope County Sheriff's Office issued a statement Saturday night that indicates two Pope County deputies and a Starbuck Police Officer or struck by bullets while making an arrest in the town of Cyrus around 7:30 PM. Information about the medical conditions of the wounded officers and the suspect has not been released.
The Sheriff's Office did state that there is no continuing threat to the public at this time. Agents from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have been called to assist with the investigation.
Authorities in Pope County say additional information will be released when available.
Cyrus is a town of fewer than 300 residents located about 25 miles southwest of Alexandria.
