Tip Leads to Rochester Child Pornography Bust
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- An online tip has led to the filing of child pornography-related charges against a Rochester man.
The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court on Friday, says Rochester Police received a tip last November regarding suspect child sexual abuse material that had been identified by Twitter.
Investigators then traced the Google account associated with the Twitter account to 35-year-old Graeme Douglas Campbell, the charges say. Authorities then executed a search warrant at Campbell’s residence in December.
The search resulted in the seizure of two phones. During the December search, Campbell told investigators he had been accessing child pornography for the past few years, according to the complaint.
Campbell said he would seek it out on Facebook and other websites. Investigators found 151 files of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material, the court document states.
Three of the files included children ranging in age from infancy to eight years old engaged in sexual acts, according to the charges.
Campbell is facing three felony counts of possession of child pornography. He’s due to make his first court appearance in the case next month.
