Rochester,MN (KROC AM News) - Damage is reported in parts of west central Minnesota that were hit by severe storms late Thursday afternoon.  

Some produced tornadoes, including at least four in the Willmar area.  No injuries were reported. Strong winds caused damage in other areas and heavy rain was reported in the central part of Minnesota, with totals running as high as 3 - 4 inches.

The system lost its punch as it moved into southeast Minnesota late Thursday night, dropping just light rain. The Rochester airport received less than a tenth of an inch and St. Mary’s reported less than a 5th of an inch.  Higher amounts were reported in northern Olmsted County. The highest totals were in Wabasha County. Lake City and the Mazeppa area reported more than 1.2 inches.
