Two drownings in Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Authorities have recovered the body of a young teen from the Mississippi River near St. Paul while a second search is expected to resume

in Chisago County for a missing man presumed drowned in the St. Croix River.

Washington County sheriff's officials were called to Lions Levee Park in St. Paul Park about 5 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses say a 14-year-old boy was trying to retrieve a stick when he went under water and disappeared. WCCO-TV reports the boy's body was found about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

In Chisago County, sheriff's officials say a 21-year-old Coon Rapids man and his 11-year-old nephew were fishing in Taylors Falls when the boy fell into the river. The uncle and a bystander jumped in to rescue the boy. The bystander managed to get the boy to shore. A search for the uncle is expected to resume Monday morning.
