Suspect Arrested For NW Rochester Shooting (UPDATED)
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police have made an arrest in connection with an early morning shooting in northwest Rochester.
A spokesman says an Olmsted County Sheriff's K9 officer tracked the suspect, which led to the arrest of 18-year-old Jaeden Adcox. He was found about an hour after the shooting hiding under a home located about a mile away from the Westminster Townhomes complex on 18th Avenue just south of the 37th Street Northwest intersection. A Rochester Police K9 was also put to work on the case and located the gun believed used in the incident.
Police were called to the parking lot of the townhomes complex around 4:20 AM after two men were shot. The victims, who are 20 and 25-years-old, were transported to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to their lower extremities. Investigators list robbery as a possible motive.
Adcox was implicated in another shooting incident last year. He was one of several people charged in what police described as a rolling gun battle in the Lincolnshire neighborhood. He was placed on probation for that incident.
He was also charged with being involved in a 2017 assault on a John Marshall High School student and a JM employee. The criminal complaint filed in juvenile court indicated police later determined Adcox was upset at the student victim over a Facebook post he had made. Police also said Adcox and the other teens claimed to be members of a local street gang.
