Two Rochester Non-Profits Receive Walmart Grants
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Walmart awarded more than $725,000 in grants to 14 nonprofits in Minnesota yesterday as part of its “ Day of Giving “ event.
The retailer’s foundation says it looks for organizations that address the needs of the communities they serve and make a significant social impact within Walmart’s core areas of giving: hunger relief & healthy eating, sustainability, women’s economic empowerment and career opportunity.
Two Rochester organizations were recipients this year.
The Boys and Girls Club was given a $35,000 grant.
The Channel One Regional Food Bank was awarded nearly $87,000.
