Two Youth Represent Rochester at the Mayors National Youth Summit
My parents have always told me the youth hold the key to our future. That is why so many important people invest in our youth. The mayor of Rochester, Mayor Kim Norton, has decided to take two Rochester youth to a conference in Los Angeles California, according to a press release. They will be attending the 2019 Mayors National Youth Summit from July 25th through July 27th.
Representing Rochester, Brett Herbers and David Jiang will interact with other youth across the country to come up with ways to involve younger generations in local community issues. Mayor Norton will also be in attendance gaining similar knowledge. In the press release, the boys said they are excited to take what they learn at this conference and bring it back to Rochester.
According to the press release, Jiang attended Century High School but decided to further his education at Yale. He recently graduated from one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Heber stayed local as well. He graduated from Marshall High School and stayed instate for college. He currently is a student at the University of Minnesota.
We are excited to see what the two learn at this summit and what they bring back to our community.
