Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The University of Minnesota has narrowed the list of candidates for the school’s athletics director position to a single finalist.

U of M President Eric Kaler today announced Mark Coyle is the lone finalist to replace Norwood Teague, who resigned last year amid a sexual harassment scandal.

A news release from the University says Coyle is the director of athletics for Syracuse University, which is a job he has held since June of last year. His previous jobs were athletics director at Boise State University and Deputy athletics director at the University of Kentucky. He also worked at the University of Minnesota from 2001 to 2005 as Associate Athletic Director for External Relations.

Coyle was scheduled to visit the University of Minnesota campus on Wednesday for an interview by the search committee and meet with coaches and other Gopher athletic department staff, senior university leaders, and U of M faculty.
