
Vehicle Struck by Gunfire During Albert Lea Shooting, Suspect Caught After Foot Chase

Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Albert Lea say an alleged gunman is in custody following a shooting Sunday night.

Responding officers were told the suspect fled on foot. Police were dispatched to the report of a gunshot around 7:45 p.m., a post on the Albert Lea Police Department's Facebook page says.

Vehicle Struck, 21-Year-Old In Custody Following Shooting in Albert Lea
Authorities say a preliminary investigation indicates an altercation took place before the shooting involving the suspected gunman, his sister and another party.
The shooting occurred in the 2400 block of Clayton Ave. Responding officers set up a perimeter and apprehended the suspect after a brief foot chase, police say.
Authorities identified the man in custody as 21-year-old Jacob Allen Dale. Police say Dale fired at a vehicle and fired a gunshot at a vehicle as it was departing.
The bullet hit the vehicle but no injuries were reported. A young child was at the scene at the time of the altercation, authorities say.
Dale was booked into the Freeborn County Jail on suspicion of reckless discharge of a firearm and domestic assault.
Albert Lea police reported recovering a handgun and spent shell casing at the scene.
