Inver Grove Heights, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A pedestrian lost their life after being hit by a vehicle near an intersection in the Twin Cities area over the weekend.

A news release issued by police in Inver Grove Heights says the deadly incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. 

First responders found the pedestrian in the street, the news release says.

Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle at Intersection in Inver Grove Heights

The deadly vehicle-pedestrian collision occurred near the intersection of Upper 55th Ave. and Blaine Ave. 

Responding paramedics provided the pedestrian with medical aid. The pedestrian was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where they were pronounced dead, the news release says. 

Authorities say the pedestrian’s name will be released by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

Police say the driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian is cooperative. Impairment is not suspected. 

The deadly incident is under investigation, the news release says.
