Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian at Southeast Minnesota Intersection
Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities responded to a traffic incident involving a vehicle and pedestrian in Goodhue County Wednesday afternoon.
It happened in Red Wing. The State Patrol responded to the incident shortly after 3:15 p.m.
The state crash report says an SUV was traveling north on Hwy. 61 when it struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The vehicle-pedestrian collision occurred at the cross walk near the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Franklin St. in downtown Red Wing.
18-year-old Kayda Clover of Red Wing has been identified as the pedestrian. She was taken from the scene to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
76-year-old Karen Joy Etheridge was identified as the SUV driver. She was not hurt.
Alcohol was not involved in the traffic incident and the road was dry, the report says. The vehicle-pedestrian collision is under investigation.
The Red Wing Police Department, Red Wing Fire Department and Red Wing Ambulance also responded to the scene.
