Vigil in Winona Today for Madeline Kingsbury
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- There’s a vigil planned Friday night for a Winona mother of two who has been missing for over a month.
26-year-old Madeline Kingsbury was last seen in Winona on the morning of March 31. Winona Police have described her disappearance as suspicious and involuntary.
Madeline’s family is inviting the public to attend “Shining a Light for Madeline” in Winona’s Veterans Memorial Park. It will begin with a prayer ceremony, followed by speeches from Madeline’s family and friends before concluding with a lighting ceremony.
In lieu of candles, attendees are asked to download the candle app on their smartphones. The vigil is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be moved to First Congregational Church at161 West Broadway St. in the event of inclement weather.
The search for Madeline remains ongoing. In the most recent update, investigators asked property owners with old homesteads, wells and other structures on their land to check them for signs of the missing 26-year-old. Authorities say there’s not a suspect or person of interest at this stage of the investigation.
