Authorities Identify Murder Victim Found at Rural Minnesota Property
Wells, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in southern Minnesota have identified the body of a murder victim who was discovered at a rural property last week.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office previously said deputies responded to the body discovery around 11:45 Friday night.
The preliminary information released only indicated the body was found at a property in rural Wells and that the person was believed to have died by homicide.
Update: Albert Lea Man Identified as Victim of Rural Minnesota Murder
A news release issued by the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday identifies the apartment murder victim as 54-year-old Miguel Chavez-Lopez. The news release indicates the murder occurred on the day of the body discovery.
Deputies found the body of the Albert Lea man at a property in the 14,000 section of 540th Ave., which is about 25 miles west of Albert Lea.
Investigators also said that Chavez-Lopez’s manner of death is still believed to be homicide.
So far no arrests have been made and law enforcement have not indicated if they have a suspect or person of interest. The cause of death is also not yet available.
Officials say the investigation remains active and ongoing. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting Faribault County investigators.
