What is Causing the Vibration in My Car?
Taking care of your car is always the focus of AutoTech 101 with Dick Zeitler on KROC-AM.
Dick joined Andy Brownell on Monday's Rochester Today Show to share his several decades of experience as an automotive technician with KROC-AM listeners. A good portion of a program was devoted to recognizing the differences between different vibrations a driver might encounter while behind the wheel.
- A vibration at lower speeds (under 40-mph) could be a problem with the drivetrain (engine, transmission, driveshaft, etc.)
- A vibration that becomes evident between 40 and 60-mph could be associated with the vehicle's suspension or a broken belt in the tire.
- At speeds above 60-mph, the problem could an out-of-balance tire.
