When We Might Finally See More Snow in Minnesota
This winter has been another weird one. We're supposed to have more snow than this in Minnesota! But just like last winter, we have a severe lack of snowfall. However, we could see some more snow finally come our way soon.
It's been insane to see the snow flying in southern states. Most of them have gotten more snow than we have all winter!

How Much Snow Minnesota Has Gotten So Far, Winter 2024-2025
So far this winter, the Twin Cities has seen about 9.7 inches of snow, more than a foot less than average according to MPR. Duluth has seen 21.6 inches so far but that's 2 feet less than average. For Rochester, I wasn't able to find official numbers for some reason but I heard the total so far is only 7 inches.

How Much Snow the Southern States Have Gotten So Far
As for southern states, New Orleans now has gotten more snow than Rochester or the Twin Cities. CBS reports that the total snowfall right now is 10 inches. Houston has 4 inches of snow and Atlanta just a little over one inch.
If you're someone who's missing the snow, never fear, predictions are showing that we might finally get some snow again next month!

The National Weather Service released their predictions for February 2025 and they show Minnesota as having a shot at above-average precipitation. They also say we have a chance to have below-average temperatures though...
If lots of snow in February means no snow in April, I'm all for it! I just really hate when we get that big snowstorm in April when we're all sick of the cold.
