Autistic & Diabetic Woman Disappears in Minnesota State Park, Search Effort Ongoing
McGregor, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities are continuing efforts to find a woman who went missing in a Minnesota State Park.

She was last seen on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 4. Officials say she’s a type one diabetic and is autistic.
A news release issued by Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office says the 23-year-old woman’s family reported last seeing her when they went out fishing on a lake in Savanna Portage State Park in McGregor, which is about 50 miles west of Duluth.
Family members said they left her alone on a dock and saw her run from the spot they left her. The family began searching for her and alerted park staff for help, authorities say.
Park staff then contacted law enforcement about 90 minutes after the young woman’s disappearance.
Since responding to the park Wednesday afternoon, members of surrounding law enforcement and search and rescue agencies have logged over 400 hours searching for the missing woman, the news release says.
She remains missing as of Monday morning. The missing woman was last seen wearing a rainbow tie-dyed T-shirt, gym shorts, black shoes and black headphones.
Her name has not been released/ Anyone with information regarding the woman’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
