Woman Killed After Vehicle Strikes Utility Pole & Rolls in Southern Minnesota
Sleepy Eye, MN (KROC-AM News)- A woman in southern Minnesota lost her life as the result of a vehicle-utility pole crash over the weekend.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to an area near the intersection of County Rd. 22 and 220th Ave., which is about 40 miles west of Mankato. The deadly crash was reported around 2:45 Sunday morning.
A news release indicates a crossover vehicle was traveling west on County Rd. 22 entered the south ditch where it struck a utility pole then rolled. One of the passengers in the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Adrainna Marie Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Sergio Andres Rangel of Sleepy Eye. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being released.
A seven-month-old girl and two-year-old boy who were also riding in the vehicle were not hurt. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the deadly crash. No other information has been released.
