Woman Killed, Man Seriously Hurt Southern Minnesota Crash with Semi
Gaylord, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash in south central Minnesota claimed the life of a Washington woman and seriously injured a Minnesota man.
The State Patrol responded to a crash involving a semi and SUV at the intersection of Hwy. 19 and County Rd. 13 in Sibley County. The fatal crash occurred shortly after noon about 35 miles north of Mankato.
The state crash report indicates the SUV, driven by 33-year-old Ubah Osman, was traveling south on County Rd. 13 when it and a semi, traveling west on Hwy. 19, collided in the intersection. The truck was operated by 47-year-old Travis Engfer of Litchfield, MN.
Osman was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle, identified as 31-year-old Zamzam Hassan of North Mankato, was brought to a Twin Cities hospital with what are described as life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt. The state crash report indicated the road had snow and ice on it at the time of the deadly crash. It’s unknown if Osman and Hassan were buckled during the fatal collision.
