15 More COVID Cases in Gopher Football Program
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The University of Minnesota football group continues to report additional players and staff members with COVID-19.
The U of M Athletic Department has announced that another 8 student-athletes and 7 staff members have tested positive for the new virus since Wednesday. That's when the program reported 10 new cases of the infection after initially reporting that 9 players and 6 staff members had tested positive for COVID-19 between November 19th and the 23rd.
That prompted the Gopher football program to pause all team-related activities and cancel Saturday's scheduled game against the Wisconsin Badgers. As of now, a total of 20 student-athletes and 20 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. The team plans to issue another update on the situation on Tuesday.
