2 Injured in Plane Crash at Southern Minnesota Park
Shakopee, MN (KROC-AM News) - Police and other emergency personnel in a southern Twin Cities suburb responded to a plane crash this afternoon.
The Shakopee Police Department says the incident was reported around 12:30 PM at Scenic Heights Park. A statement says the two occupants of the small aircraft were transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of unknown injuries.
Photos taken at the site of the crash show a twin engine plane that is largely intact, although there is significant damage to the aircraft. KMSP-TV in the Twin Cities obtained video that shows the airplane slowly descending before it suddenly takes a nosedive into a grassy area of the park.
Shakopee police have requested that members of the public stay away from the area while the incident is investigated.
