30,000 Fentanyl Pills Seized – Rochester Man Sent to Prison
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sent to federal prison in a major drug trafficking case.
46-year-old Jon Michael Ask was originally charged in Olmsted County Court in 2023 following his arrest by Rochester police as part of a nationwide drug trafficking investigation. Court documents indicated that a search of his residence in Rochester led to the seizure of seven pounds of fentanyl pills. At the time, local law enforcement officials stated that the large amount of drugs suggested Ask could have held a high-ranking role in the trafficking operation.

The prosecution of his case was transferred to federal court in March of last year. He was indicted on multiple federal drug charges and entered into a plea agreement in January, admitting to a charge of conspiracy to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and quantities of cocaine.
Federal court documents say Ask admitted that he conspired with numerous others to distribute the drugs from the spring of 2023 through September 2023. The indictment stated that law enforcement seized approximately 30,000 fentanyl pills at his residence after Ask had traveled to Arizona to obtain the drugs and mail them to Rochester for distribution.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota says Ask has received a sentence of five years in prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release.
