95 Months in Prison For Rochester Drug Bust

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Olmsted County judge this morning approved a plea agreement in a local drug case and also went with the prosecution's recommended sentence of just under eight years in prison.

32-year-old Elvis Porte entered into the plea agreement last week and admitted to a second-degree drug charge in exchange for the dismissal of a first-degree charge. He was arrested in December 2021 after he sold nearly 24 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant working with Rochester police investigators.

Porte is already in prison serving a 5-year sentence for his conviction on aggravated robbery and drug charges. The robbery charge stemmed from an assault on another man at Apache Mall in August 2020. Porte was accused of punching the victim several times before stealing his backpack.

It was also alleged that he threatened a witness to the assault when she pulled out her cell phone to call 911. Porte was apprehended a short time later and told investigators that he was angry at the assault victim because the man owed him money.
