
Three-Vehicle Amid Freezing Fog Crash at Rochester Intersection Injures 74-Year-Old Driver
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash at an intersection near downtown Rochester sent one person to the hospital Wednesday morning.

Preliminary information released by the Rochester Police Department indicates three vehicles were involved.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. amid dense and freezing fog.

Driver Taken to Hospital Following Crash at Intersection of South Broadway and 9th St. in Rochester
Rochester Police Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says the collision happened at the intersection of South Broadway Ave. and 9th St. SE.
A vehicle making a left turn onto 9th St. from southbound Broadway Ave. collided with a vehicle traveling north on Broadway Ave. in the intersection.
Grayson also said a third vehicle was struck as a result of the collision.
The driver of the vehicle making the left turn, described as a 74-year-old man from Rochester was taken to a hospital. Grayson said the Rochester man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A 49-year-old Stewartville woman, who had a 38-year-old woman, 6-year-old girl, four-year-old girl and one-year-old girl riding with her, was driving the northbound vehicle.
A 51-year-old man from Rochester was behind the wheel of the vehicle struck after the initial collision. Grayson says none of the occupants of the other vehicles were hurt.
Police did not release the names of the people involved in the crash.
Intersection Sees 2nd Injury Crash in Less Than a Week
It’s the second crash to happen at that intersection in less than a week.
On Friday a pickup making a left turn from 9th St. to southbound Broadway Ave. collided with two women and an infant in a stroller.

Police said the women and baby were in the crosswalk. All three were taken to a hospital and an update regarding their conditions is not available.
The 84-year-old man driving the pickup was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
