A cheaper Memorial Day weekend than a year ago

Minnesotans who plan to hit the road during the Memorial Day weekend won’t be paying as much for gasoline as they did a year ago.

Minnesotagasprices.com is reporting the average statewde price for regular is around $3.50, compared to $4.16 at this time a year ago. Numerous stations in the Twin Cities area are selling gas for around $3.30.

MNDOT is reminding motorists to be careful when driving through construction zones.
It will be a warm weekend across the state with highs in the 70’s and 80’s, even in northern areas. Scattered storms may develop Sunday. Despite the warmer weather, the DNR is reminding people that lakes and rivers are still extremely cold and to use caution.
