
Man Critically Injured in Crash With Lakeville Police Squad Car
Lakeville, MN (KROC-AM News) - One person was critically injured Thursday night when a passenger car collided with a police SUV in Lakeville.
The State Patrol says the crash was reported around 10 PM at an intersection along Cedar Avenue on the eastern edge of the Twin Cities suburb approximately a half mile west of Farmington High School. The two vehicles collided when the driver of the southbound car turned left into the path of the law enforcement vehicle.
The Lakeville police officer driving the SUV was identified as 26-year-old William Lehman of Apple Valley. The State Patrol says he was not responding to a call and did not have the vehicle’s emergency lights activated at the time of the collision.

The driver of the car was identified as 23-year-old José Diaz of Burnsville. He and one of his passengers, 19-year-old Osmin Lopez of Burnsville sustained non-life-threatening injuries that were treated at the scene.
A second passenger in the car, 31-year-old José Rodriguez of St. Paul, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. The State Patrol says he was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for treatment.
Information about his current medical condition is not available.
