Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police arrested one person and cited another after responding to the report of a possible burglary at a closed Rochester shop.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to the call at a former shoe repair store around 8:40 Thursday night. 

Dispatch had indicated one of two men seen at the property was climbing through a broken window.

The report of a possible burglary came from a property located at 908 Broadway Ave. North. Upon arrival officers found two suspects in the area.

They told police they were looking at the building because they were interested in buying it, the police report indicates

One of the men at the former business, identified as 40-year-old Troy Nesler of Rochester, was arrested on suspicion of fifth-degree drug possession

Information released by Rochester Police does not say what kind of drug he was suspected of possessing or how much he allegedly had. 

Grayson says the second individual was issued a citation for giving police officers a false name. His name has not been released.

The abandoned building was once called "Thee Only Shoe Repair." The business opened in 1963 and was listed for sale in August of 2022.
