A Warm Up, Followed by Snow
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Monday was a nice weather day in the Rochester area but Tuesday should be even better.
Monday’s high temperatures across the region climbed into the upper 30s and low to mid-40s. The warmest temperature reported to the National Weather Service was 48 degrees in Winona. Preston reported a high of 41. Rochester’s official high Monday at the airport (RST) was 38. Downtown temperatures were in the low 40s.
Rochester could see highs in the lower to mid-40s Tuesday. The last time Rochester enjoyed 40-degree weather was Jan. 26 when the airport temperature hit 42 degrees.
The warmer weather is melting the area’s snow cover. As of late Monday, it was measured at 5 inches at the airport. But - there is a chance of 1 - 2 inches of new snow by Thursday, the first day of March.
