MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — An animal welfare group is calling on prosecutors to file criminal charges against workers and managers at a southwestern Minnesota hog farm.

Los Angeles-based Last Chance for Animals on Tuesday released an undercover video of conditions at a Christensen Farms breeding facility in Luverne.

Group spokesman Adam Wilson says the video documents a pervasive pattern of cruelty and neglect. He says the groups' investigator recorded numerous instances of sick and injured sows being left to suffer for weeks. The video also shows one farm worker repeatedly stabbing a sow with a pen to try to get it to move.

Wilson says the group has turned over its findings to the Rock County Sheriff's Office. Christensen Farms says it has suspended seven employees as it looks into claims of "possible improper animal care."
