Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -Three more motorists have been added to the Rochester 100 mph club.

One is a Pine Island man, caught driving 113 mph on Highway 52 in Oronoco. A state trooper pulled over 19-year-old Riley Gasser around 10:00 pm May 11th.

VISUALLY OBSERVED VEHICLE APPROACHING FROM BEHIND AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED CLOSING DISTANCE QUICKLY. SPEED READINGS 113 THEN DROP. DRIVER TOLD ME HE WASN'T IN A HURRY JUST GOING HOME. THOUGHT HE WAS "GOING ABOUT 100".

The other two are from Rochester and were ticketed the same day, May 15th.

A trooper stopped 19-year-old Kapi Kuku around 4:00 am on Highway 52 in Rochester. He was given a ticket for driving 118 mph. He was also ticketed for violating his instruction permit. He told the trooper he was “just trying to get home.”

AS SQUAD WAS CATCHING UP TV VISUALLY SPEEDING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. RADAR AT 113 CLIMBED TO 118 MPH. CLEAR STEADY TONE. TV TOOK EXIT TO HWY 52 NB. DRIVER STATED HE WAS JUST TRYING TO GET HOME. HANDED OVER MN IP. SAID HE SAW HOW FAST HE WAS GOING HE WAS GOING PRETTY FAST. SAID HE WAS COMING FROM AUSTIN GOING HOME TO ESSEX PARK APTS. 

Another trooper caught 27-year-old Chapa Valetin driving 107 mph on Highway 52 in Rochester around 3:00 pm.

I WAS STOPPED IN THE GRASS BETWEEN SB HWY 52 AND THE RAMP TO DRIVE SOUTH ON HWY 52 FROM 2ND ST. SW. I WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE CAR USING MY LIDAR TO RECORD SPEEDS. I WITNESSED SAID VEH. DRIVING NB HWY 52 TOWARDS ME IN LL AT VERY HIGH SPEED PASSING RL TRAFFIC. TWO SPEED READINGS. ONE AT 100 MPH AND SECOND AT 107 MPH AT 1160 FEET AS IT SPED UP. AT THE STOP THE DRIVER TOLD ME HE JUST GOT THE CAR AND APOLOGIZED.

More than a dozen motorists have been caught driving over 100 mph in the Rochester area since April 1st, including one clocked at 121 mph.
