
Alcohol Suspected in Crash Near Oronoco on Hwy 52
Oronoco, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol says alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in a traffic crash late Friday night that sent a Rochester man to St. Marys Hospital.
Semi Versus SUV
A preliminary crash report on the incident says it involved a semi-truck and an SUV on Highway 52 about a mile north of the Olmsted County Road 31 interchange at Oronoco. The State Patrol says troopers, along with Olmsted County and Goodhue County deputies, responded to the scene around 11:25 PM.
According to the crash report, both vehicles were traveling north on Highway 52 when they collided.
Alcohol Suspected as Contributing Factor
Alcohol is suspected in the case of the driver of the SUV, who was identified as 31-year-old Moses Omwoyo Moturi. The State Patrol described his injuries as non-life-threatening.
Teenage Passenger
He had a 14-year-old male passenger who was not hurt. The driver of the semi-truck, 55-year-old Walter Vann of Brooklyn Park, also escaped injury.
The State Patrol says the Zumbrota Police Department, the Pine Island Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash. In
