MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (AP) — Police say alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that killed two people in Maple Grove.

The Hennepin County medical examiner identifies them as 68-year-old Sheron Lee Swanson, of Dayton, and 54-year-old Michael Eugene Kelley, of Osseo.

Maple Grove police say Kelley was driving an SUV that crossed the center line of County Road 81 just before 4 p.m. Friday. Police say the SUV sideswiped one vehicle before crashing head-on into Swanson's car. Both of them died at the scene.

Capt. Dan Wills says alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident, but the investigation is continuing.

The sideswiped vehicle went on to hit another vehicle. Three people in those vehicles suffered noncritical injuries.
