The traffic slowdown is due to a lane closure to allow for the installation of a Weigh-in-Motion system.
MnDOT District 6 Spokesman Mike Dougherty says the systems are being installed throughout the state.
Crews are installing sensors in the lane and are doing some work in the median. The lane closure is impacting southbound traffic on Hwy. 52 in the Oronoco area.
A post published Wednesday afternoon on MnDOT’s Southeast Minnesota X account says traffic delays are possible during the morning and evening commute times.
Dougherty says the work is anticipated to be completed by Thursday evening weather permitting.
