MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Tre Jones had 24 points, 18 rebounds and made nearly every crucial play in the final minute as Apple Valley beat previously undefeated Champlin Park 60-54 in Saturday night's Class 4A state title game.

Jones, the brother of Minnesota Timberwolves guard and former Apple Valley star Tyus Jones, broke a 54-all tie with less than a minute to play to put the Eagles (30-2) ahead. But he also came up with a crucial rebound off his own missed free throw, grabbed another rebound on the Rebels' ensuing miss, and capped off the possession with an assist to Mohamed Kone to put the Eagles up six.

It was only fitting that Jones grabbed the rebound off McKinley Wright's final miss to seal Apple Valley's third state title in five years.

Marcus Hill led the Rebels (31-1) with 15 points and Wright had 14. Theo John scored 12 points and blocked eight shots.

Champlin Park, which beat the Eagles 91-84 on Dec. 10, took a six-point lead on a three pointer by Josiah Strong with 7:28 to play. But Jones keyed an 11-2 run to push the Eagles back in front and set up the final minutes.

Goanar Mar led DeLaSalle with 28 points, Gabe Kalscheur added 20 and the Islanders beat Austin 72-44 on Saturday night for their sixth-straight Class 3A boys state title.

The Islanders held off a couple of rallies from the scrappy No. 2-seed Packers, but otherwise cruised for most of the night thanks to the George Mason-bound Mar. The senior forward keyed an early second-half run with a fast-break dunk and layup that put the top-seeded Islanders (27-3) ahead by 18.

Mar — who finished 9 of 15 from the floor and 8-for-8 from the free-throw line — walked off the floor with just over a minute remaining to a standing ovation and into the arms of coach Dave Thorson, who won his ninth state title.

The Packers (29-3) never seriously threatened in their attempt to win Austin's first state title since 1958. Both Gach had 14 points to lead the Packers, who entered the game averaging 73.8 points per game and had lost to only one other team this season.

Minnehaha Academy outlasted Crosby-Ironton and won its first title since 2013 with a 47-36 victory Saturday in the Class 2A boys basketball state championship game.

The Redhawks (26-5) shot 1-for-10 during a 9:40 stretch and watched their lead dwindle from as many as 11 to 30-29 with 8:03 to play.

But a 10-4 run over the next five minutes helped the Redhawks to their 19th straight victory and the state title. It was Minnehaha Academy's lowest scoring game of the season.

Minneapolis North Community rolled past North Woods, Cook 96-49 during Saturday's Class A state boys basketball championship game at Target Center.

The Polars (32-2) opened the game on a 19-2 run and never looked back, securing their second consecutive state championship and seventh in school history.

North won its seven postseason contests by an average of 62.5 points per game. The Polars will move to Class 2A next season.

North shot 53.9 percent and forced 24 turnovers against the Grizzlies, who upset third-seeded Central Minnesota Christian and second-seeded Goodhue in their first-ever state tournament appearance.
