
Resident Accused of Stabbing Austin Group Home Staff Member
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- An Austin man is facing a felony charge for allegedly stabbing a staff member at a southeast Minnesota group home.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Mower County Court on Friday. The alleged stabbing happened Thursday evening.
The Austin Police Department responded to the report of a stabbing at a group home located in the 1800 block of West Oakland Ave. in Austin.

Austin Man Charged for Stabbing Staff Member at Group Home
First-arriving officers found the victim, who is described in the complaint as a staff member of the home, outside of the residence and holding his stomach.
He was suffering from a stab wound to his lower left stomach, the complaint says.
Paramedics arrived and began caring for the victim. The victim said 26-year-old Ethan Daniel Gregg had called him to his room.
The complaint says Gregg came out of his room, met the victim in the hallway and stabbed the victim. A different staff member corroborated the victim’s account, the court document says.
The complaint does not describe the victim's current condition. Officers found a steak knife in the kitchen that was used in the alleged stabbing, the complaint says.
Austin Stabbing Suspect Captured During Traffic Stop
Police learned Gregg had fled the residence. Officers later found and captured Gregg during a traffic stop.
Gregg is charged with second-degree assault. He is being held on $250,000 bail and is due back in court next month.
