La Crosse, WI (KROC AM News) - The National Weather Service is reporting the possible arrival of very cold temperatures by the end of the week:

“We're monitoring signals for a potential intrusion of Arctic air plunging into the region by next weekend. Exactly how cold temperatures will drop is not yet certain this far out, but it would hold the potential to be our coldest airmass of the season so far. Stay tuned for updates in the coming days and start thinking about necessary preparations.”

The frigid weather could linger for several days.
