Assaulted Rochester Woman Goes To St Marys, Attacker Goes To Jail
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested Monday in a domestic assault incident that sent the victim to the hospital in an ambulance.
Police were contacted around 5:45 AM by a man who had spotted the victim in a hallway of his apartment complex.
The man and his wife were talking to the victim when 31-year-old Karlwin Richards appeared and dragged the victim away. Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says the man who had found the victim feared for his wife’s safety because of Richards’ “very aggressive behavior” so they returned to their apartment and called 911.
Officers found the apartment where Richards and the victim were and took him into custody.
Moilanen says the 19-year-old woman had two black eyes and other “significant” head and facial injuries and was taken to St Marys Hospital for treatment.
