Body Found in Freezer at Empty Minnesota Home
Biwabik, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in northeastern Minnesota say a body found in an empty home was in a freezer.
A news release from the Gilbert Police Department says officers responded to a 911 call at a residence in Biwabik, which is about 60 miles north of Duluth, Monday afternoon on the report of a deceased male found inside of the house. Investigators ordered an autopsy to identify the man and determine his cause and manner of death.
An updated news release issued Tuesday identifies the man as 35-year-old Brandon Lee Bushman of Babbit, MN. Authorities say his body was in a chest freezer in the basement of a home that has been vacant since February of this year.
The chest freezer is described as one that locks from the inside when it is shut. The freezer was not on at the time of the body discovery, the news release says.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office’s initial report indicates there was no evidence of trauma or injury. The final autopsy with toxicology results is expected to be available in several weeks.
