Busiest Month For Rochester Homebuilders in 7 Years

The Rochester Building Safety Department issued 41 permits for new single family homes last month -the highest monthly total in 7 years. The department was also busy again with new commercial projects, issuing permits valued at $6.3 million. One was for a new motel along West Circle Drive - the second one in that area - that is valued at $4.8 million. A $1.3 million permit was approved for a new Holiday convenience store near Assisi Heights.  The value of new commercial projects during 2014 could go over $200 million by the end of summer.
