Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Byron man was arrested Wednesday night for a gun-related incident in Rochester.

A 19-year-old Rochester man called 911 around 9:30 to report the driver of another vehicle had just pointed a gun at him while the two were driving in the 3500 block of 41st St NW.

Rochester Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says the caller was able to get the license number of the car and it was traced to a residence in Byron. An Olmsted County deputy spotted the car pull into the driveway less than 20 minutes later and talked to the driver.

Moilanen says the man told the deputy he did not point the gun but “waved it around” as he drove past the other driver.

After a loaded 9mm handgun was found in the man’s vehicle, the deputy took him into custody. The 21-year-old man could face a felony assault charge.
