Car Crashes into Skyway in Rochester Parking Ramp
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) It is suspected that a medical condition played a role in a traffic crash inside a Rochester parking ramp this afternoon.
The Rochester Fire Department says a woman was transported to St. Mary’s hospital after the car she was driving collided with several parked vehicles and then crashed through a glass wall on the city's skyway system inside the Second Street Parking Ramp.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. and resulted in a traffic jam inside the ramp while emergency responders dealt with the woman and cleaned up the resulting mess created by the series of collisions. Firefighters also had to extinguish a small fire beneath the crashed car.
The woman’s name has not been released and there is no information available about her medical condition. It's estimated there was about $20,000 in damage to the parking ramp and skyway system.
