Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police are investigating a Rochester carjacking involving three suspects.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says the carjacking happened around 11:00 Tuesday night. 

Multiple law enforcement agencies tracked the suspects as they drove towards the Twin Cities in the stolen vehicle

Two Teens Arrested for Rochester Carjacking, Third Suspect Remains at Large

The carjacking occurred at a home in the 5800 block of Edelweiss Ln. NW. 

The victim told officers he was in his garage when the three suspects, who were dressed in black, approached him, hit him in the head with a gun and demanded his vehicle, according to the police report

Police say the assailants then fled from the home in the victim's vehicle and headed north out of Rochester on Hwy. 52. Multiple agencies tracked the vehicle as it entered Dakota County.

Authorities then deployed stop sticks in the area of the highway’s interchange with Hwy. 50 near Farmington. The vehicle stopped and the suspects fled on foot, police say.

Grayson says law enforcement captured two of the suspects. Both are described as 17-year-old Rochester residents. 

They were taken to the East Central Regional Juvenile Center in Anoka County. 

The third suspect remains at large, police say. A description of the third suspect has not been released.
