Celebrate Preservation Month at the Chateau Theatre
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Chateau Theatre Re-Use Task Force and the Destination Medical Center are hosting an event today to celebrate National Preservation Month.
It’s been dubbed a community-wide kickoff celebration for the Chateau Theater Re-Use Project. The event, which will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m., will also include discussions about the planned renovation of the historic theater, Rochester’s preservation ordinance, trends in historic preservation, and the community’s role in re-use planning.
It will also introduce the public to Miller Dunwiddie Architecture, the consulting group that was recently selected to lead the Chateau Theatre’s restoration and re-use project.
Community members can enjoy a collaborative presentation and visual display of historic preservation and adaptive reuse. Artifacts from the heydays of the Chateau, supplied by John Kruesel and Kevin Lund of the Rochester Conservancy group, will also be on display.
Refreshments will also be served, including Green River pop, and a calliope will be playing in the Peace Plaza.
