That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday.

The sting started September 3, when an undercover law enforcement officer set up a social media profile that featured two images of a young female.

The complaint says a man identified as 44-year-old Marvin Douglas Fear, under the username “Juneyour”, began messaging the undercover officer’s account.

Fear then messaged he wanted to have sex with the fake young girl after he was told she was under the age of 18, the complaint says. He also is accused of sending the account two sexually explicit images of himself.

In the messages Fear said he lives in Brainerd. A Brainerd police officer drove by the residence Fear was believed to have been staying at and found him sitting on stairs that matched his profile picture on the app he used to message the undercover officer, the charges say.

On September 10, officers from the Rochester Police Department and Brainerd Police department executed a search warrant at Fear’s residence and found he had a tattoo that matched one seen in the sexually explicit images, the complaint says.

Fear has been charged with distributing electronic communication that relates/describes sexual conduct with a child, engaging in electronic communication relating or describing sexual conduct with a child, soliciting a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct and violating predatory offender registration requirements.

He’s being held in the Olmsted County Jail on $25,000 conditional bail and is due back in court later this month. Court records indicate Fear was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in Aitkin County in 2014.
