The swimming beach at Chester Woods Park between Rochester and Eyota closed on Wednesday. So did the Silver Lake Park Splash Pad.

Chester Woods Park Swimming Beach and Silver Lake Splash Pad Close on Wednesday
A post on the park’s Facebook page indicated the closure was prompted by the result of a water test.
“We had a water sample test come back out of the norm with poor results. For public safety we are closing the beach until we can get the water retested to confirm if the water quality is back to normal or not,” park officials wrote.
Results from a lab test are expected on Thursday. Watercraft rentals at the park are still available.
Mechanical Failure Prompts Closure of Silver Lake Splash Pad
In Rochester the new splash pad at Silver Lake Park was shut down on Wednesday. The city of Rochester indicates the closure is due to a mechanical failure.
A news release says a replacement part is required to fix the issue and that the part has been ordered. The splash pad will reopen once the part is installed.
At one point the pool was also shut down on Wednesday but has since reopened.
In the meantime, the splash pads at Lincolnshire Park and Soldiers Field Aquatic Center are operational. An admission fee is required to access the Soldiers Field Splash Pad and the Lincolnshire splash pad is free.
