Rochester Man Sentenced for Child Porn Case Stemming from Owatonna Police Department Investigation
24-year-old Vadeem Rudenko was charged with one count of dissemination of child pornography involving a minor under the age of 14 following an investigation conducted by the Owatonna Police Department in January of 2024.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement established an account on the Kik social media platform and joined a group associated with other accounts known for seeking child pornography.
One of the users in that group, later identified as Rudenko, shared a video in late February of last year that depicted an eight-year-old girl being sexually assaulted, the complaint in the case says.

The court document also described how investigators traced the IP address of the account to the Rochester man and his residence, which led to the execution of a search warrant last March.
Rudenko gave a statement to investigators and admitted sharing the video online and told them he had at least 100 files of child sexual abuse material on his electronic devices, according to court records.
On Monday, Rudenko’s motion for a downward sentencing departure was granted. He received a 60-day jail sentence to serve as work release and on weekends and was also sentenced to five years probation.
