City Council updated on proposed vets museum project

The Rochester-based Minnesota Veterans and Emergency Services Museum

Site Committee updated the City Council today on its work and released a list of possible sites for the proposed facility.  Committee members ranked the Sutherland Playground at Soldiers Field Park near the Family Y as the most favored site.  Also considered were other sites at the park, the county fairgrounds and the current Senior Center on Broadway.  Project spokesman Tom Hosier told the Council the group is hoping to secure $350,000 in planning money from the state to continue examining sites and other work.  The site selection committee was formed in 2011.
