Is your neighborhood in need of some more shade?  Free trees are being given away and one could be coming to you.

The Rochester Conservation Corps will be planting trees in our parks and throughout the community in the boulevard. Let Rochester Park & Recreation know you'd like one by completing a short form. - City of Rochester, MN Facebook Page

According to the City of Rochester, MN Government Facebook page, free trees are available for boulevards in the Rochester community.  If your neighborhood is in need, all you need to do to request one is to fill out a simple form that can be found here.

Now, just because you fill out the form doesn't mean you will necessarily get a tree.  The City Forester will make the decision where the trees will be going and priority will be to neighborhoods that are underserved or that have environmental needs or tree canopy issues.

Free trees are free trees, however, it looks like everyone isn't so happy about these trees for Rochester's boulevards.  Browsing through the Facebook post, you will see quite a few people upset that they have had to make repairs to their sidewalks because of trees in the boulevards.  If you are curious about the negative comments, you can check out the Facebook post here.

Is there a spot in Rochester that needs more trees?  Let me know by sending me a message over on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or DM me on Instagram.
